Terry Matthews is Chairman and CEO of March Networks Corporation, a leading developer of interactive broadband IP applications and delivery platforms. Prior to joining March Networks, he served as CEO and Chairman of Newbridge Networks Corporation, a company he founded in 1986. Providing leadership and vision for 14 years, Terry helped Newbridge become a leader in the worldwide data networking industry. When France-based Alcatel acquired Newbridge in May 2000, the company employed more than 6,500 people worldwide and recorded a FY1999 revenue of $1.8 billion.

In 1972, before launching Newbridge, Terry co-founded Mitel Corporation. Under his leadership, Mitel grew quickly to become a world leader in the design and manufacture of enterprise voice systems and products. In 1985, British Telecom bought controlling interest in Mitel. More than 15 years later, in February 2001, Terry purchased the company's worldwide Communications Systems division and the Mitel name. He is now owner and non-executive Chairman of the newly formed Mitel Networks Corporation, a company focused on providing next generation IP (Internet Protocol) telephony solutions for broadband networks.

Terry holds an Honours degree in Electronics from the University of Wales, Swansea and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has been awarded honorary doctorates by several universities, including the University of Wales, Glamorgan and Swansea, and Carleton University, Ottawa. In 1994, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2001, he was awarded a Knighthood.

Terry is also the founder and principal investor in Celtic House International, an early stage technology venture capital firm with offices in Canada and the United Kingdom. Celtic House invests in companies that specialise in telecommunications, storage, networking and Internet infrastructure. In addition, Terry serves as Chairman of a number of high technology companies including Convedia Corporation, DragonWave and Tundra Semiconductor Corporation. He is Chairman of The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales, which was recently chosen to host the 2010 Ryder Cup Golf.


John EverardJohn Everard

John Everard has worked for over 30 years in the networking industry before founding Newport Networks Limited. in September 2000. Prior to Newport Networks, he held senior positions for over 10 years with Newbridge Networks Corporation, initially establishing Newbridge Information Systems before becoming Vice President and General Manager - Europe, Middle East and Africa for Newbridge Networks Corporation.

Prior to his time at Newbridge Networks, John was Chairman of Telspec Ltd., a telecommunications equipment supplier. This followed a number of years at Mitel Corporation where he started as Director of Engineering for Mitel Telecom Ltd., before becoming Vice President and General Manager - Europe, Middle East and Africa for Mitel Corporation.

Much of his earlier engineering experience was gained at the British Telecommunications Research Department and at Bell Northern Research in Ottawa, Canada. John has a B.Sc. Honours degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the City University and an M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Systems Design from the University of Essex.

John Ackroyd is a Chartered Accountant. After graduating from Leeds University with a degree in Economics, he joined KPMG in South Wales where he qualified as a chartered accountant, becoming a partner in 1985. He was Head of Audit and Owner Managed Business for KPMG in Wales when he resigned in 1997 to set up his own consultancy business. He has served as part time CFO since the formation of the Company and assumed a full time position in March 2004.


Simon GibsonSimon Gibson, OBE
Director

Simon is Chief Executive of Wesley Clover Corporation, an investment and venture capital fund specialising in early stage technology start-ups.

Before joining Wesley Clover, he was co-founder, President and CEO of Ubiquity Software Corporation. Ubiquity is a pioneer in the creation of SIP-based telecommunications services for global Service Providers.

Simon has also served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Newbridge Networks in Kanata, Ontario, Canada. His early professional career was spent in the UK and the USA at Mitel, Ericsson and BT.

Mr. Gibson has been the recipient of four national R&D awards and was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to industry and to the community in South Wales in the 1999 Queen's Birthday Honours list.

He is an advisor to several government bodies including the National Economic Research Advisory Panel, a member of the Board of the Welsh Development Agency and the Welsh Electronics Forum. Simon holds Directorships in a number of public and private companies.


Lord Rowe-BeddoeLord Rowe-Beddoe

Chairman of Wales Millennium Centre since March 2001, Lord Rowe-Beddoe is an international businessman with a considerable track record in both the public and private sectors including Chairman of Welsh Development Agency from 1993 to December 2001, Chairman of the Development Board for Rural Wales 1994-1998, patron of the Prince's Trust and Chairman of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

His current Board memberships include Mitel Networks Corporation, Toye plc and European Hotels Corporation Ltd. He was Chairman of the Audit Committee for Development Securities plc from 1994 to 2000.

He was with Thomas De La Rue from 1961 and was Chief Executive between 1971 and 1976; Revlon Inc 1976 – 1981 (President Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa 1976 - 1981) then President of Morgan Stanley – GFTA Ltd between 1981 and 1991.

Lord Rowe-Beddoe is an Honorary Doctor University of Glamorgan and Honorary Fellow of University of Cardiff and University of Wales College of Newport. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a fellow of the Institute of Directors and a Companion of the Institute of Management.

Lord Rowe-Beddoe was knighted in 2000 for his services to industry and economic development in Wales.
