CHEPSTOW, UK - November 11, 2003 - Newport Networks Limited announced today that it has signed a distribution agreement with Macnica Networks Company, a division company of Macnica, Inc. Macnica is a leading distributor and integrator of telecommunications solutions in the Japanese market. Under the terms of the agreement, Macnica will provide Newport Networks 1460 session controller products to Japanese Service Providers enabling them to deploy reliable, revenue-generating voice and multimedia services over IP networks.
This partnership provides significant benefits to Macnica, Newport Networks and their customers. Macnica is one of the most highly respected Japanese distributors, with over 25 years of experience in product localisation, sales and the technical support of network equipment with firmly established OEM and integration channels. Newport Networks offers the industry’s first carrier-class session controller. Together with Macnica’s proven sales and technical support capabilities, this creates an excellent, low-risk package for Service Provider customers.
Service Providers now have access to a carrier-class solution to address the challenges of delivering voice and multimedia services over IP. The 1460 provides a straightforward and low cost approach to connecting business and residential subscribers to these services, enables control of the quality of service delivered and provides a robust method of collecting charging information based on usage.
