Newport Networks Ltd and Marconi Communications Ltd Sign MOU
CHEPSTOW, UK - December 22, 2003 - Newport Networks Limited announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Marconi Communications Limited. Marconi is a global designer, manufacturer and supplier of telecommunications equipment and services. Newport Networks manufactures and delivers carrier-class session controllers to Service Providers, enabling them to offer commercial voice and multimedia services on top of existing data and Internet services.
Under the terms of the agreement, Newport Networks and Marconi Communications will work together to deliver joint solutions that can be marketed and sold to meet the existing and future needs of telecommunication service providers. This solution provides policing functions, inter alia, for IP Interconnects between Network Operators and for IP Interconnects between IP PBX CPE's and New Generation public networks.
