Newport Networks Sesson Border Controller

Newport Networks and Ubiquity Partner to Deliver Carrier Class SIP Solutions

Newport Networks 1460 Session Controller
and Ubiquity's SIP Application Server (A/S) Complete SIP Interoperability

Chicago, Ill, June 21, 2004 -- Newport Networks Limited, the developer of advanced VoIP products and Ubiquity Software Corporation, the leading provider of SIP-based communications software, today announced product interoperability to create solutions for next generation carrier-class IP-based voice and multimedia networks.

Newport Networks' products provide session border control for IP signaling and media, while maintaining IP network integrity and security for both IP customer access and carrier peering applications. The Ubiquity SIP A/S is both a carrier-class deployment platform and a programmable, standards-based application-creation environment (ACE) that allows service providers to develop and deploy next-generation converged communications services. By combining Ubiquity's service deployment platform with Newport Networks' carrier-class session border controller, service providers can rapidly deploy next-generation SIP-based applications without compromising their network security.

"Service Providers who are rapidly deploying SIP services require tight integration between network elements," said David Vant, VP Marketing, Newport Networks. "We are pleased to announce interoperability with Ubiquity's carrier-class SIP A/S product which has been deployed by many of the world's largest service providers and systems integrators."

"Carriers need a high capacity session border controller as they ramp up deployment of advanced SIP services to their subscribers," said Jeff Liebl, VP Marketing, Ubiquity. "Newport Networks complements our SIP A/S to meet this need."

Newport Networks and Ubiquity Software will be exhibiting their products at SuperComm in Chicago, June 22-24.
