Newport Networks Signs Distribution Agreement with Leading Next Generation Network Equipment Vendor

Caldicot, UK, 13th March, 2006. Newport Networks, the developer of carrier-class Session Border Controllers, is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with a leading Next Generation Network (NGN) equipment vendor to distribute the Newport 1460 session controller. The agreement, which has an initial term of 5 years, enables the vendor to sell the Newport 1460 as part of their extensive solution offerings to operators building Next Generation Networks.

Joint business development activities under the auspices of the agreement are already underway with a number of tier-1 operators. Additionally, the two companies are working closely to finalise negotiations with a tier-1 operator who intends to use the Newport 1460 to provide the session border controller components of its Next Generation Network.
